Two pieces today, the first 'Torso' by John Farnham long time assistant to world famous modernist sculptor Henry Moore. The stone was heavily weathered with extensive lichen and literally a forest of moss on his back. I got 90% off with soft plastic detail scrapers and cleaned extensively with a medium bristle brush. On his side I used a soft natural hair bristle brush given the deteriorating condition of the stone. There comes time when further cleaning can risk damage to a heavily weathered stone. Where 'shakes' (cracks in the stone are visible) extreme care is required. Where this stone is concerned, one further treatment on my next visit should suffice.
The second piece was 'Silent Growth' by renowned sculptress Angela Godfrey. It came up wonderful after four treatments and with ph neutral, biodegradable cleaner.
